History at Timna Park
As you walk through the park, you’ll find ancient copper mines and a few remains of furnaces dating back to the times of Ancient Egypt. and refferd to king Salomon
Copper was the first metal used to create utensil and household tools, ornaments, cult objects, and even weapons. That means that the importance of Timna in the ancient world was enormous.
Some Multimedia displays tell the amazing history of the site, and visitors are engaged by dream-like stories of Egyptian goddesses and pharaohs.

Hiking at Timna Park
Timna Park has hiking trails, some short and some longer to give you a sense of the beauty of the place. Enjoy the amazing wildlife, the plants, and trees that survive in the arid conditions of the desert.
In the small lake, pedal boats are included in the entrance fee and for the small children, there are some activities as sand bottling with the region’s unique colored sand; and other craft activities. Also, the Park offers excellent bicycle ride options and verity of cool trails in this unique landscape.

Visiting Timna Park
As mentioned above, Timna Park is around 25 km north of Eilat, a 15-minute drive through the Arava Valley. Due to the size of the park, getting around inside by foot can take a long time, so the site is best reached by an organized tour, by car or the Timna Safari Shuttle.
The shuttle is available daily from Eilat during the winter season, meaning October to April.

Sunday to Thursdays and Saturday: 08:00-16:00
Friday: 08:00-15:00
Eve of Holidays during July and August: 08:00-13:00
